Enis deal goes down // Bears' top pick agrees to contract

One of the most acrimonious contract negotiations in Bearshistory ended with a whimper Monday when first-round draft pickCurtis Enis and his agent, Greg Feste, reached an agreement with theteam on a three-year deal worth almost $5.6 million, including a $3.6million signing bonus.

The deal wasn't final in time for Enis to make the trip toPlatteville, Wis., but Feste said his client will be there today.

"We got the deal we wanted, there is no doubt about it," saidFeste, who settled on a contract that was a long way from theseven-year, $45 million proposal he made at the start of talks. "Wewanted a three-year deal. While most of those other (rookies) areplaying out …
